Privacy policy
The short version. Your plan and training records live on your phone. Nothing about your training leaves it unless you choose to sign in and back it up. If you do, it's stored in the UK and only you can see it. We don't sell your data, show ads or track you across other apps.
Who we are
Bout Ready is published by ARX Algorithms Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17511371). Registered office: Office 21751, 182-184 High Street North, East Ham, London E6 2JA. We are the data controller for the information described here and are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Questions about your data: [email protected].
What stays on your phone
To build and adjust your plan, the app keeps the following on your device:
- Your answers from set-up: sport and style, fight date and weigh-in timing, weekly classes and free times, experience, fitness, kit, date of birth, sex, height and weight, old injuries, and your answers to the health questions.
- Your training records: morning check-ins, pain reports, head-contact checks, concussion steps, red flags you report, sessions you complete or move, sets and loads, skill and sparring logs, and test results.
- For under-18s, the name of the parent or guardian who completed the guardian step.
This information stays on your phone and we can't see it, unless you sign in (below).
If you sign in to back up your training
Signing in is optional. If you do, we store your email address and a copy of everything listed above in your account, so it's backed up and can be restored on a new phone.
Some of it is health information, such as pain, check-ins, head knocks and red flags. Under UK data protection law that is "special category" data, so we only store it with your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the box on the sign-in screen. You can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your account in the app (Profile, then Delete my account). Your training carries on working on your phone.
Subscriptions
Payments are taken by Apple or Google; we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous ID for your app install (or your account ID if you're signed in) and your purchase history from the store.
Why we use your information
| What | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Set-up answers and training records on your phone | To build and adjust your plan | Processed only on your device |
| Email and backed-up records | To back up and restore your training | Contract; explicit consent for health information |
| Purchase records | To unlock the subscription you paid for | Contract |
| Support emails | To answer you | Legitimate interests |
We don't use your information for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. The plan's training decisions are made by fixed coaching rules on your phone, and each one is explained in the app.

| Supabase | Account sign-in, sign-in code emails and the backup database | London, UK |

Where information goes outside the UK, it is protected by the UK's adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
Information on your phone stays until you delete the app or use Start again in Profile. Backed-up information stays until you delete your account. Deleting your account removes it from our live database straight away and from backups within 30 days. Purchase records are kept by Apple, Google and RevenueCat as the law requires them to.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your information, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Most of this you can do yourself in the app; for anything else, email [email protected] and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Under-18s
If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must complete the guardian step during set-up. Parents and guardians can contact us about a young person's information at the address above.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
